How I Made Chicken Macaroni Salad With Nestle Cream

First, I combined 1 cup of Nestle cream and 1/2 cup of mayonnaise in a large bowl. I whisked them smoothly together.

Then I added 1 cup of shredded chicken, 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup each of diced pickles, red and green peppers, grated carrots and chopped onion. 

I also stirred in 2 tablespoons of raisins and 1/4 cup pineapple tidbits. Folding gently coated everything evenly.

Following that, I put in the cooked and cooled macaroni noodles. I mixed until well-dressed in the creamy sauce. 

Moving on, I seasoned with salt and pepper to taste for balancing flavor. 

Finally, I covered and chilled the salad in the fridge for at least an hour. This allowed the flavors to meld together beautifully. 

The creamy, hearty salad was so enjoyable as both a side and main course! The blend of ingredients was simply comforting. I’m glad I got to try this classic recipe.

Chicken: Canned tuna changes the protein and flavor profile. 

Pickles: Diced celery offers crunch instead of pickles.

Red and Green Bell Peppers: Other colored peppers or veggies like cucumbers swap easily.

Carrots: Shredded zucchini or additional peppers alternative the vegetable.

Onion: Green onions or shallots provide a milder taste.

Raisins:Dried cranberries or chopped apricots variate the fruity sweetness. 

Pineapple Tidbits: Diced apples or grapes replace the tropical fruit.

How Long does Homemade Macaroni Salad last in the Fridge 

The salad can last 3-5 days in the fridge if properly stored. Place it in an airtight container to maintain freshness. 

If left out at room temperature for over 2 hours, discard it as bacteria grows quickly between 40-140°F. Also toss it if exceeding 90°F for more than an hour. 

When refrigerating, fully cover the container with a lid or plastic wrap. This helps retain quality.  

Use clean serving utensils to prevent contamination. Avoid double-dipping.

If bringing salad to a picnic, keep it refrigerated until ready to go. Alternatively, use a portable cooler to keep it chilled until eating.

  • 2 cups cooked macaroni noodles
  • 1 cup cooked and shredded chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
