Banana Strawberry Pudding Ingredients

  • Frozen whole strawberries
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Bananas
  • Vanilla-flavored instant pudding
  • Sweetened condensed milk
  • Cream cheese, softened
  • Vanilla extract
  • Cool Whip
  • Oreo cookies (or vanilla wafers)

How To Make Banana Strawberry Pudding

Crush the Oreos into small crumbs. Heat the frozen berries in the microwave for a few minutes, then mash them with a fork. Slice the bananas into thin pieces.

Using a hand or stand mixer, blend the cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and vanilla pudding mix until well combined. Fold in approximately 1 1/2 cups of Cool Whip and continue mixing until the mixture is smooth.

Begin by spreading half of the pudding mixture on the bottom of a trifle dish. Next, add a layer of half the mashed berries, followed by half the sliced bananas, and then half of the Oreo crumbs. Repeat these layers to finish.

Top the pudding evenly with the remaining Cool Whip. Garnish with fresh strawberry and banana slices. Let the dessert chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving. Keep it tightly covered with plastic wrap until it’s time to serve.

Top Tips

  • It’s also wise to cut the strawberries into cubes and slice the bananas just before layering to prevent browning. Assembling each component swiftly ensures peak freshness.
  • Additionally, consider mixing in vanilla extract for an extra homemade touch. Cool Whip blended into the pudding further enhances its lush texture.
  • Then, place a base layer of Nilla Wafers in your container before alternating layers of the pudding, sliced banana and strawberry cubes. Repeat stacking the ingredients to the top.
  • Furthermore, if you run low on pudding, crown with Cool Whip and crushed cookies for an elegant finish.
  • Moreover, the pudding requires at least three hours’ refrigeration for silky smoothness. However, one hour will deliver tasty results too if patience runs short.
  • Lastly, you can serve the parfait-style pudding in a clear trifle dish, baking pan or mason jars for visual presentation. Sweetened condensed milk substitutions also yield creamierflavor.

How To Store

For optimal freshness, place the pudding in an airtight container after assembling to prevent drying out. This also stops banana browning by limiting exposure. Furthermore, refrigerating the covered pudding is key. The chill environment will help maintain quality and protect bananas from deterioration for the duration. It’s also important to note that refrigerator storage allows enjoyment for approximately four days. Lastly, freezing banana strawberry pudding isn’t recommended. The freezing process unfortunately causes bananas to turn mushy in texture. It may likewise impact creaminess due to ice crystal formation.
