Watermelon Sorbet

This summer, I tried a dessert that was both juicy and delightful. During the hot months, many people crave refreshing desserts like I do. Since it’s watermelon season, I decided to make something with watermelon. My experience was fantastic; the watermelon sorbet not only refreshed my mind but also my body. It was delicious!

Ingredients

  • Cubed seedless watermelon
  • Granulated sugar
  • Fresh lime juice

How To Make Watermelon Sorbet 

Prepare the Watermelon:

  1. Wash the watermelon and cut it in half.
  2. Scoop out the seeds and cut the watermelon flesh into 1-inch cubes.
  3. Spread the cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  4. Freeze the watermelon cubes for at least 2 hours or until they are completely frozen.

Make the Sorbet Base:

  1. In a small pot, mix the sugar with 1/4 cup of water.
  2. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool completely.

Blend the Sorbet:

  1. Place the frozen watermelon cubes, cooled sugar syrup, and lime juice in a blender or food processor.
  2. Blend on high speed for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides as needed.

Freeze the Sorbet:

  1. Transfer the blended mixture to a freezer-safe container.
  2. Cover the surface with plastic wrap or parchment paper to prevent ice crystals.
  3. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until the sorbet is firm.

Serve:

  1. Scoop the watermelon sorbet into chilled bowls.
  2. Garnish with fresh watermelon slices, mint leaves, or a splash of lime juice, if you like.
