Chicken and Chorizo Tacos

Chicken and chorizo tacos combine ground chicken and diced chorizo for a flavorful dish. The smoky, spicy chorizo pairs well with the mild chicken, enhanced by spices like cumin and coriander. Avocado, sour cream, black beans, cilantro, and lime wedges are common toppings that add to the delicious experience, creating a burst of flavors and textures.

Chicken And Chorizo Tacos Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 12 taco shells
  • 3 ounces chorizo sausages, chopped
  • 3 scallions, chopped
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1⁄2 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese

How I Made Ground Chicken And Chorizo Tacos

Firstly, I heated some oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, I added the ground chicken and seasoned it with salt and cumin. I cooked the chicken whilst stirring occasionally until browned and cooked through.

While the chicken was cooking, I preheated the oven and warmed the taco shells according to the package instructions.

Next, I added chopped chorizo and scallions to the skillet with the cooked chicken. I let it cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring regularly, until the chorizo browned and scallions softened.

Then, I seasoned the chicken-chorizo mixture with more salt and black pepper to taste. Everything smelt incredibly fragrant and flavorful at this point!

To assemble, I filled each warm taco shell with the savory chicken-chorizo filling. I topped with chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce and grated cheese.

Finally, I served up the tacos immediately as they were sure to be delicious! The different textures and flavors blended together perfectly in each hearty bite. It was a big hit for sure.
