- 2 large ripe tomatoes sliced
- 4 slices bread
- ½–1 cup mozzarella cheese sliced or shredded
- 1–2 tbsp butter or mayonnaise
- Fresh basil leaves optional
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Slice tomatoes and lightly sprinkle with salt.
Spread butter or mayonnaise on bread slices.
Layer tomatoes and mozzarella on one slice.
Add basil, pepper, and close the sandwich.
Toast on a pan until golden (optional).
Slice and serve immediately.
