- 3½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup finely chopped kale stems removed
- 1½ cups buttermilk
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter softened or melted
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
Stir in chopped kale, then add buttermilk and butter.
Mix gently to form a soft dough and shape into a round loaf.
Score a cross on top and place on a baking sheet.
Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding.
