Instructions
 

Prepare the Meat Mixture:

  • Place the ground beef in a large mixing bowl.
  • Sprinkle evenly with garlic powder and seasoned salt.
  • Add a generous amount of Chipotle Tabasco Sauce; Jesse Kelly recommends using about half a bottle per pound of meat, noting that the heat diminishes during cooking, leaving a rich flavor.
  • Gently mix the ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat to maintain tenderness.

Form the Patties:

  • Divide the seasoned meat into four equal portions.
  • Shape each portion into a thin patty, slightly larger than the bun to account for shrinkage during cooking.

Cook the Patties:

  • Heat a flat-top griddle or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once hot, place the patties on the cooking surface.
  • As soon as the patties begin to sizzle, flip them immediately.
  • Place a slice of American cheese on each patty right after flipping to allow it to melt as the burger finishes cooking.
  • Continue cooking until the patties are cooked through, approximately 2-3 minutes per side, depending on thickness.

Prepare the Buns:

  • While the patties are cooking, spread a thin layer of butter on the insides of the hamburger buns.
  • Toast the buns on the griddle or in a separate skillet until they are lightly browned and crisp.

Assemble the Burgers:

  • Place each cooked patty with melted cheese onto the bottom half of a toasted bun.
  • According to Jesse Kelly, additional condiments or toppings are unnecessary, as the burger's flavor stands on its own. However, feel free to customize with your preferred toppings if desired.
