Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, for added heat
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

Combine Base Ingredients:

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add 1 cup of mayonnaise. Stir in 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard until well blended.

Incorporate Flavor Enhancers:

  • Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar to the mixture. Mix thoroughly to ensure all liquids are well incorporated.

Season the Sauce:

  • Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (if using). Stir the mixture until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the sauce.

Add Freshness:

  • Pour in 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. Mix well to combine, ensuring the sauce has a smooth and uniform consistency.

Adjust to Taste:

  • Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. For a sweeter profile, add a bit more honey; for more tang, increase the red wine vinegar or lemon juice.

Chill Before Serving:

  • Transfer the sauce into an airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and develop fully.

Serve:

  • Once chilled, stir the sauce before serving. Use it as a condiment for sandwiches, a dip for fries, or a dressing for salads.

Notes

Enhance Texture & Flavor – If you enjoy a bit of crunch or extra depth, consider adding finely chopped red onions or pimentos (sweet red peppers often found in pimento cheese). These ingredients provide a slight sweetness and a mild peppery bite that complements the creamy base.
